Symrise has commenced the second phase of construction for its logistics centre in Holzminden, Germany, marking another significant milestone in the company’s long-term infrastructure and growth strategy.
The project involves an investment of approximately €25 million and is designed to strengthen the company’s global logistics capabilities, improve operational efficiency and reinforce Holzminden’s role as a key hub within Symrise’s international supply chain network. The expansion forms part of the company’s wider Vision 2035 infrastructure programme, which focuses on modernising facilities and supporting sustainable long-term development at its headquarters.
The new phase will include a fully automated high-bay warehouse with around 10,000 storage spaces, measuring roughly 98 metres in length, 22 metres in width and 24 metres in height, alongside a two-storey connecting structure. The logistics centre will be operated by Symotion, the company’s wholly owned logistics subsidiary, enabling more efficient goods handling, improved material flows and enhanced responsiveness to customer demand worldwide.
According to CEO Jean-Yves Parisot, the project reflects Symrise’s ambition to create a digitally advanced and performance-driven organisation capable of delivering faster, more transparent and more flexible services to customers across global markets.
The company also highlighted the sustainability benefits of the project, noting that improved transport structures and a centralised logistics hub located on the outskirts of the city are expected to ease urban traffic congestion and positively support local infrastructure and quality of life. Completion of the second construction phase is scheduled for March 2028.
