Thermal and acoustic insulation panel manufacturer Soprema has announced investments worth €66.5m (US$71.8m) at its sites in France. The new production facility in Sausheim will produce about 750,000m3 of PU insulation per year, accounting for about €50m of the total investment. The plant will supply its products to France's eastern regions and manufacture insulation for other European markets, including Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. The facility will complement Soprema's two other plants in the region, Saint-Julien-du-Sault and Nîmes.
The second new manufacturing investment is in Saint-Vulbas, with about €16.5m spent in its ATI Isolation division. The offshoot will be able to produce around 7.5m m2 of panels per year, expected to be in place in 2027. The opening of a new factory in Saint-Vulbas will allow the insulation panel specialist to move out of its current plant in Dagneux, in eastern France. Soprema, established in 1908, has a global workforce of over 10,450, with 103 production facilities and more than 120 subsidiaries. The company operates in 90 countries, with 23 R&D centres focused on sustainable development and 46 training centres in 16 countries.
