Shree Malani Group has significantly reduced its carbon footprint, cutting CO2 emissions by 1.6kT over 2023 and 2024. The reduction includes 1.3kT in 2023 and an additional 300T in 2024, achieved through initiatives such as installing a rooftop solar power plant and transitioning to 100% biodiesel for steam generation. Plans for 2025 include converting diesel-fueled generators to biodiesel, targeting an additional 250T CO2 reduction, which will position the company at 97% on the Sustainability Development Index.
Furthermore, the company is prioritizing the use of sustainable raw materials as part of its long-term goal to achieve carbon neutrality, though no specific timeline has been disclosed. Alongside its sustainability efforts, Shree Malani has expanded the capacity of its Bhubaneswar facility in Odisha by 50%, adding 7,500m² of space with advanced equipment like a 60m looper, cutting systems, storage and handling setups, and metering lines.
The expansion, completed in 2024 after beginning in 2023, is set to meet the growing demand for technical foams and automotive industry products in eastern India. The facility, the largest foam plant in the region, supplies states including Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, and other northeastern states. Shree Malani operates two major foam-based mattress manufacturing plants: the Bhubaneswar site, commissioned in 2021, and one of India’s largest integrated facilities in Hyderabad. The expansion aligns with India's overall growth trajectory and reinforces Shree Malani's position as a leading player in the foam and mattress industry.
