I.T.S has introduced a new 'crossbreed fruit' flavour line, capitalising on the hybrid fruit trend and increased desire in fresh twists on classic favourites across the F&B market.
The company hopes to address the demand for intriguing new ideas in this field by introducing its new natural, clean label, and allergen-free flavour line, which is intended to emulate the robust flavours of real fruit crossbreeds.
Mike Bagshaw, founder of I.T.S, noted that while actual fruit crossbreeds are popular, they confront issues in terms of availability, seasonality, and pricing.
"Crossbreed or hybrid fruits like pineberries, and tangelos have been making waves recently in UK supermarkets, with retailers such as Waitrose championing them and showing consumers that fruit doesn't just have to be a boring old apple or banana. These exciting, crossbred fruit flavours provide great scope for innovation in drinks, snacks, bakery or dairy."
Bagshaw stated that the new line allows manufacturers to "move fast and capture the buzz" while avoiding the supply issues associated with using real fruit crossbreeds.
The taste solution range includes:
Melon Berry: A luscious melon foundation enhanced with sweet berry overtones, touted as ideal for summer product launches.
Tangelo is a lively combination of tangerine and pomelo, ideal for soft drinks and confectionary.
Limelon: A blend of strong lime and mellow lemon, producing a crisp, refreshing sensation ideal for beverages and frozen delights.
Blood Lime: Combining rich citrus depth with ruby-red intensity, positioned as a'sophisticated yet playful' flavour for cocktails, sweets and dairy
Pineberry: Described as'strawberry's tropical cousin,' the solution mixes strawberries and pineapple flavours, designed for eye-catching yoghurts and bread products.
Boysenberry: A strong and dark fruit with 'jammy richness,' suitable for sauces, stuffing, and luxury cocktails.
Peach Berry: Juicy peach rounded with a ripe berry sweetness, ideal for versatility in F&B applications and regarded as'smooth and sunny'.
