Givaudan, a global leader in the fragrance and beauty sector, has announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Vollmens Fragrances Ltda as part of its 2025 strategy to enhance its presence among local and regional clients.

Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Saltinho, Brazil, Vollmens operates across Latin America, Central America, Africa, and North America. The company employs 180 professionals and is known for its high-quality, agile, and customer-focused fragrance solutions. This acquisition is aimed at boosting Givaudan’s influence in high-growth Latin American markets and enhancing its ability to serve mid-sized customers. Vollmens’ founders, Nestor Francisco Mendes and Rinaldo José Mendes, will continue to lead the business, ensuring stability and a seamless transition.

Givaudan CEO Gilles Andrier emphasized that the acquisition aligns with the company’s strategic priorities, while Maurizio Volpi, President of Givaudan’s Fragrance & Beauty division, noted the synergy between the two firms in delivering enhanced value to clients. The Mendes brothers expressed enthusiasm about joining forces with Givaudan, highlighting shared values in quality and innovation.

Although financial details have not been disclosed, the acquisition is expected to contribute around CHF 25 million in proforma sales to Givaudan’s 2024 results. Funded from existing resources, the deal is anticipated to close in the second half of 2025. The agreement also includes provisions allowing Givaudan and the founding family to increase Givaudan’s ownership in the future, laying the groundwork for a long-term collaboration focused on growth and innovation across regional markets.
