Swiss fragrance and flavour company Givaudan has announced a major investment of CHF 55 million to build Campus 52, a new centre of excellence in Grasse, France, dedicated to its House of Naturals organisation, underlining its strategic focus on natural fragrance ingredient innovation and sustainable growth.
This development, following the acquisition of land in the historic heartland of perfumery, will bring together state-of-the-art production and innovation under one roof, comprising a production facility and an innovation laboratory designed to foster close collaboration among scientists, agronomists, perfumers and industry partners to explore, develop and produce high-quality, differentiating natural ingredients for Givaudan’s global perfumery network.
Built around four core pillars — agronomy, innovation, operations and perfumers — Campus 52 is intended to leverage advanced extraction technologies and operational excellence while reinforcing responsible sourcing and sustainable practices from the field through to finished fragrance, with lush gardens integrated into the site to symbolise continuous connection with nature.
According to leadership statements, the project represents not only a return to Givaudan’s roots in Grasse but also a tangible expression of the company’s 2030 strategy to drive sustainable growth by creating high-value natural fragrance solutions that resonate with consumers’ increasing demand for traceability and premium ingredients.
The investment follows a period of robust performance for Givaudan, which reported CHF 7.5 billion in sales and a workforce of over 17 000 in 2025, and is seen as a cornerstone of its ambition to strengthen its market position in natural perfumery by combining Grasse’s traditional savoir-faire with cutting-edge research and manufacturing capabilities, ultimately enriching perfumers’ creative palette and setting new benchmarks in the natural ingredients sector.
