Covestro and Insulectro Join Forces to Accelerate Growth in Flexible Electronics Market

Covestro and Insulectro have announced a strategic partnership aimed at expanding access to advanced material solutions for the rapidly growing flexible electronics market across the Americas. The collaboration combines Covestro’s expertise in high-performance specialty films with Insulectro’s extensive distribution network, engineering support, and technical services to help manufacturers accelerate innovation and commercialization.


As demand rises for next-generation technologies such as wearable devices, stretchable circuits, medical electronics, robotics, smart surfaces, membrane switches, and connected devices, the two companies aim to provide customers with both cutting-edge materials and the technical support needed to move efficiently from product development to large-scale production. At the center of the partnership are Covestro’s Platilon® and Dureflex® thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) films, which are valued for their flexibility, durability, stretchability, optical performance, and process reliability in demanding electronic applications. By leveraging Insulectro’s expertise in advanced substrates, conductive inks, logistics, and customer support, the partnership seeks to simplify supply chains and improve material accessibility for electronics manufacturers.


The companies emphasized that customers increasingly require integrated solutions that combine innovative materials, application knowledge, and dependable supply rather than standalone products. The collaboration is expected to strengthen the flexible and printed electronics ecosystem by enabling faster product development cycles and supporting the commercial deployment of emerging technologies.
