Avient Expands Healthcare TPU Manufacturing in China

Avient Corporation, a global leader in sustainable material solutions, will showcase its extensive range of medical-grade materials at Medtec China 2024. The event will feature Avient's announcement of expanded manufacturing for its NEU™ Custom Capabilities and NEUSoft™ Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) solutions for catheter applications, now produced in Suzhou, China, enhancing services across the Asia Pacific region.

Avient will present a diverse portfolio, including colorants, additives, thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs), and engineered polymers. These materials meet stringent medical and pharmaceutical standards, with manufacturing certified under GMP and ISO 13485-2016. Additionally, Avient’s Singapore facility has achieved ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for in-vitro cytotoxicity testing of medical devices.

At Medtec China, Avient will showcase technologies such as the expanded production of NEUSoft™ TPUs, offering customized, ultra-soft materials for catheter applications with superior UV stability, elasticity, and durability. They will also highlight the Chromatics™ Evoluscend™ Mold Release Additive, a high-temperature polymer additive free from PFAS, enhancing production efficiency and product quality, compliant with FDA and ISO standards.

Avient will also feature its Mevopur™ Bio-based Polymer Solutions, designed to reduce carbon footprints with up to 95% bio-content, and Versaflex™ HC TPEs, formulated for healthcare tubing with excellent weldability and kink resistance. These bio-derived solutions provide a sustainable alternative to silicone and PVC.
