Wanhua Chemical Group has declared force majeure on the supply of all products to Middle Eastern countries.
According to the company’s notice, escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East have significantly disrupted navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, leading to widespread interruptions in international shipping, logistics, and port operations. The company stated that these circumstances are unforeseeable, unavoidable, and beyond its control, thereby constituting a force majeure event.
Due to the severe disruption of shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz, product deliveries have become either impossible or unreasonably hazardous. As a result, Wanhua has formally declared force majeure for the affected contracts, orders, and delivery obligations. The duration of this measure will depend on how the situation evolves.
The company added that it has activated its emergency response mechanism and is closely monitoring developments. The notice took effect on March 7, 2026, and was implemented to safeguard operational continuity while maintaining the supply of high-quality products and services to customers.
