Symrise Invests €27.5 Million in Chicken Ingredient Production Expansion in France

Symrise has commissioned a new cooking line and spray-drying tower at its Food & Beverage production site in Berric, France, following a €27.5 million investment announced on 22 October 2026.

The expansion significantly increases the company’s production capabilities for chicken ingredients and taste solutions, strengthening its global supply platform and improving production flexibility.

The new facilities use advanced process control and enable the manufacture of a broad range of products, including chicken powders, broths, fats, pieces and integrated flavour solutions.

The investment builds on Symrise’s existing chicken production capabilities in the United States and expands its European manufacturing footprint, bringing production closer to customers across Europe, Africa and the Middle East while offering additional sourcing options for customers in Asia-Pacific and Latin America.

The expanded facility supports applications in savoury foods, nutrition and pet food, helping manufacturers meet demand for convenient, natural chicken ingredients and differentiated taste profiles. The project also received financial support from the Brittany regional government and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.

By combining more than 45 years of local chicken expertise with its global flavour technologies, application knowledge and customer insights, Symrise aims to improve supply resilience, support customer growth and reinforce its position in the global chicken ingredients and taste solutions market.

The expansion aligns with the company’s ONE Symrise strategy and its broader focus on innovation, operational efficiency and long-term growth.
