The Indian government has extended the anti-dumping duty on imports of Flexible Slabstock Polyol originating from or exported by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates up to and including June 17, 2026, according to Customs (Anti-Dumping) Notification No. 01/2026 issued on January 2, 2026, following a sunset review by the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR).
The duty, originally imposed under Notification No. 20/2021 on April 5, 2021, targets polyether polyols of molecular weight 3000-4000 classified under Customs Tariff Heading 3907 29 to counteract dumping that was found to have caused material injury to domestic producers. In March 2025, the DGTR initiated a review under the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, and Anti-Dumping Rules, 1995, to assess whether removal of the duty would lead to the recurrence of dumping and injury; based on its findings, the DGTR recommended that the existing anti-dumping duty remain in force pending completion of the investigation.
Consequently, the government amended the original notification to insert a provision ensuring continuity of protection for India’s domestic industry during the review period. The duty extension requires importers of Flexible Slabstock Polyol (HS Code 3907 29) from Saudi Arabia and the UAE to continue factoring in the anti-dumping levy through June 17, 2026, unless it is revoked or amended earlier.
