California, USA – Biomaterial engineering startup Ecogenesis has joined forces with Algenesis to produce sustainable materials for 3D printing. The collaboration focuses on utilizing Algenesis’ Soleic thermoplastic TPU, originally developed at the University of California San Diego, to create environmentally friendly solutions for additive manufacturing.
Soleic, a biodegradable TPU derived from algae, will be incorporated into Ecogenesis' portfolio of sustainable filaments. This innovation aims to deliver 3D printing materials that are both high-performing and eco-conscious, offering durable and biodegradable options for prototyping, manufacturing, and design applications.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to fostering a healthier, safer planet,” said Nick Sandland, Chief Business Officer of Algenesis. “By combining our expertise in sustainable materials with Ecogenesis’ leadership in the 3D printing market, we are enabling customers to innovate responsibly.”
