On April 10, 2025, Wanhua Chemical announced its successful acquisition of Vencorex’s specialty isocyanate business, marking a significant milestone in its global expansion. The deal includes Vencorex's HDI monomer production facility near Grenoble, France, with a capacity of 70,000 tons annually, and access to the company’s sales channels and brand across Europe.
This strategic move enhances Wanhua’s position in the aliphatic isocyanate market by integrating Vencorex’s technical capabilities, production assets, and established market network. The acquisition also includes intellectual property, strengthening Wanhua’s technological edge and negotiation leverage in global markets.
Wanhua plans to use the French facility to optimize production and warehousing efficiency, enabling faster response times and improved supply chain flexibility in Europe. The site’s location and logistics infrastructure will support cost-effective distribution across the continent.
Amid global economic uncertainties and rising U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods, the European base allows Wanhua to mitigate macro-level risks and maintain stable exports to the U.S. The move reassures global clients of Wanhua’s commitment to secure, reliable supply and reinforces its leadership in the specialty isocyanate industry.
