USITC Maintains Trade Duties on Mattress Imports from Seven Countries

The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) announced on 13 October 2026 that existing trade duties on mattress imports from Cambodia, China, Malaysia, Serbia, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam will remain in place following five-year sunset reviews.
The Commission determined that revoking the relevant antidumping and countervailing duty orders would likely lead to the continuation or recurrence of material injury to the U.S. domestic industry within a reasonably foreseeable period.
Consequently, existing antidumping duties on mattresses from Cambodia, Malaysia, Serbia, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam, along with the countervailing duty order on mattresses from China, will continue.
The reviews were initiated on 1 April 2026, and the USITC decided on 6 July 2026 to conduct expedited reviews after finding adequate responses from domestic industry representatives but inadequate responses from respondents.
The determination forms part of the five-year review process required under U.S. trade law, which assesses whether existing duties should remain in place to protect domestic industries from injury associated with unfairly traded imports.
The USITC’s detailed findings are scheduled for publication in Mattresses from Cambodia, China, Malaysia, Serbia, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam, USITC Publication 5803, by 19 November 2026. The decision means importers and exporters in the affected countries will continue to operate under the applicable trade measures.
