Univar Solutions and BASF Expand Specialty Ingredients Distribution Partnership in North America

Univar Solutions USA LLC, a leading global distributor of specialty ingredients and chemicals, announced that it and its Canadian affiliate, Univar Solutions Canada Ltd., have been appointed the exclusive distributors in the United States and Canada for select BASF specialty ingredients used in industrial applications.

The agreement, covering Capromer™, 1,6-Hexanediol (HDO®) in molten and flake form, and epsilon-caprolactone, significantly expands the companies’ longstanding partnership and strengthens their combined ability to deliver value to customers across multiple industries. These versatile chemistries are widely used as building blocks in coatings, plastics, adhesives, polymers, and textile fibers, where they impart performance properties such as durability, flexibility, and weather resistance.

In particular, HDO is valued for enabling the production of lower VOC industrial coatings, polyurethanes, adhesives, and epoxy systems, including those used in advanced applications such as wind turbine rotor blades and lightweight automotive components.
