The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. has inaugurated its new Fragrance Atelier within La Maison des Parfums on Rue Volney, Paris, under the High Patronage of Emmanuel Macron, marking a major milestone in its global luxury fragrance strategy. The 2,000 m² innovation hub, blending French craftsmanship with modern design, is dedicated to advancing world-class fragrance expertise through AI-enabled creation, neuroscience modelling, and state-of-the-art technologies such as CO₂ supercritical extraction and GCMS molecule analysis.
Serving as a shared engine for brands including Jo Malone London, TOM FORD, Le Labo, KILIAN PARIS and Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle, the Atelier aims to cut fragrance development lead times by up to 50% and foster rapid experimentation and collaboration. It enhances Estée Lauder’s global R&I network across the US, China, Europe, and Canada. La Maison des Parfums brings fragrance, creative, and innovation teams together in a purpose-built, five-storey space, further deepening the company’s six-decade presence in France, where it employs over 1,200 people.
The opening underscores France’s strategic role as a hub for perfumery excellence and innovation, reinforcing the country’s €30 billion perfume and cosmetics sector. Pascal Cagni, French Ambassador for International Investments, hailed the Atelier as proof of France’s attractiveness for global leaders in beauty and luxury.
