Symrise Expands Natural Fragrance Capabilities with New Lautier 1795 Facility in Grasse

Symrise has opened a new production facility for its natural fragrance ingredients brand, Lautier 1795, in the Grasse region. Together with the recently acquired premium natural ingredients specialist Floral Concept, the site expands the company’s capabilities in southern France. This strategic investment blends more than 230 years of natural raw material expertise with advanced processing technologies. Under its ONE Symrise strategy, the Group integrates this specialised local knowledge with its global fragrance capabilities and customer network, creating a strong ecosystem for distinctive, high-quality natural ingredients.
ONE Symrise Integrates Expertise at the Source
The new facility is a key part of Symrise’s fragrance ecosystem in southern France, complementing Floral Concept’s premium naturals expertise. It provides customers with comprehensive capabilities spanning natural raw materials, responsible sourcing, processing and production, supported by the Group’s global strengths in innovation, perfumery and tailored customer solutions.
This integrated model brings the ONE Symrise strategy to life by combining specialist expertise with the Group’s global scale, knowledge and market reach. In Grasse, a leading hub for fragrance creation and natural ingredient sourcing, these capabilities help accelerate the development process from raw material selection to finished fragrance.
Together, Lautier 1795 and Floral Concept expand Symrise’s access to regional expertise and deepen its ties across the Grasse fragrance ecosystem. The strengthened network provides an additional hub for processing natural raw materials into distinctive, high-quality ingredients for perfumers worldwide.
“Since the Diana acquisition in 2014, Symrise has built a strong natural ingredients business for food applications. Today, with our expanded footprint in Grasse including Lautier 1795 and Floral Concept, we are bringing complementary naturals capabilities together to create new opportunities in fragrance ingredients”, explains Michael Friede President Scent & Care segment at Symrise. “Through ONE Symrise, we connect this expertise with our global reach to strengthen a differentiated and resilient platform for long-term value creation.”

Founded in Grasse in 1795, Lautier 1795 brings over two centuries of expertise in sourcing and processing exceptional natural raw materials. Combined with Floral Concept’s capabilities, this heritage enables Symrise to explore new creative possibilities and unlock greater technical value from natural ingredients.
Advanced technologies enable precise processing, consistent quality and improved traceability. Close collaboration between growers, sourcing partners, ingredient specialists, perfumers and customers also helps transform market requirements and creative concepts into new ingredients more efficiently.
Customers benefit from broader creative options, dependable quality, greater transparency and specialist support. For perfumers, the expanded capabilities create fresh opportunities to explore the olfactory richness of natural ingredients and incorporate them into modern fragrance creations.
“Grasse gives Lautier 1795 deep roots and fresh momentum,” says Camille Quintin, Supply Chain Director at Symrise. “At Symrise, we combine generations of natural-ingredient expertise with modern technologies, global capabilities and close partnerships.
