Expanding Aerospace Production

  • Expansion of Aircraft Sealant Production Capacity in Langelsheim

  • Strategic Investment Strengthens Surventis’ Aerospace Business

  • Reinforcing Commitment to the Langelsheim Site and Future Growth

Surventis marked the expansion of its aircraft sealant production capabilities at the Langelsheim site with a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony. The investment will add manufacturing and laboratory capacity while reinforcing the company’s position in the global aerospace market.

"With this investment, we are creating the conditions to continue to meet the growing demand of our customers in the future. At the same time, we are strengthening our innovative and production strength," emphasizes Frank Naber, Executive Vice President Surface Treatment at Surventis. "Our ambition is to make targeted investments in strong technologies and long-term competitive advantages worldwide."

Langelsheim serves as Surventis’ global centre of expertise for Chemetall® aircraft sealants and as a key production site for the company’s aerospace and surface-treatment solutions. Aircraft sealants have been manufactured there since the 1990s. Strong business growth has led to several expansions, including the addition of new production, laboratory, and administrative facilities in 2019. The site currently employs more than 200 people representing ten nationalities, along with eight trainees.

"Langelsheim combines decades of experience, technological competence and efficient production structures. The new buildings are being built in the immediate vicinity of the existing aerospace production on an already developed construction site with a connection to the plant's existing infrastructure. This combination makes the site an important building block of our global growth strategy," says Dr. Florian Müller, Surventis plant manager at the Langelsheim site.

Solutions marketed under the Chemetall brand protect surfaces against corrosion, enhance coating adhesion, and facilitate the forming and downstream processing of a broad range of materials.
