Surventis Expands North American Surface Treatment Capabilities with New Testing Lines in Blackman Township

Surventis, formerly BASF Coatings, has announced the launch of two new testing lines at its Blackman Township, Michigan, surface treatment production facility. The new lines enhance the company's testing capabilities in North America and strengthen pre-production support for customers through its Chemetall brand.

The new pilot lines, dedicated to pretreatment and anodising applications, connect laboratory development with full-scale production. They allow Surventis and its customers to simulate real-world operating conditions, evaluate performance, optimise processes, and validate solutions before commercial implementation. The facilities also allow customers to observe testing firsthand and optimise the performance of Chemetall solutions in conditions that are similar to their own production environments.

The enhanced testing capabilities enable more accurate production-line simulations, allowing teams to evaluate full-sized components, reduce scale-up risks, and resolve process challenges more efficiently. The new lines also strengthen Surventis' ability to support customers across multiple industries and regions by validating Chemetall surface treatment solutions that improve substrate protection, coating adhesion, and forming and processing performance.
