Serta Simmons Bedding (SSB) is launching a new line of mattresses called Beautyrest Black. The collection will be unveiled in the second quarter and presented at the Summer Las Vegas Market in July.
The mattresses are positioned as the flagship Beautyrest line, with four levels labelled Series One through Four. They use pocket coil technology, Sleep Climate temperature control, and a variety of memory foams. The collection includes 20 models, with prices ranging from $1999 for a queen-sized Series One mattress to $4999 for Series Four.
The range's marketing campaign references a popular 1990s commercial that shows the mattresses' ability to absorb the impact of falling bowling balls.
“This is the first of several major product launches we are executing over the coming months,” said interim CEO Mark Genender. “Through great new products, national advertising, and close partnerships with our retailers, we will continue to execute our turnaround strategy and regain market share.”
