SIBUR, Russia's largest petrochemical producer, has developed its own grades of polyols, key organic compounds in the production of polyurethane foam for the automotive industry.
SIBUR has collaborated with its partners to create a polyurethane foam system for car seats that is based on its proprietary polyether components. These components offer vibration absorption, durability, and elasticity. SIBUR has developed more than 30 new products and over 300 solutions for a variety of industries, including automotive manufacturing, packaging, and medicine, in the past two years. SIBUR specialists collaborate with finished product manufacturers to create polymer solutions that are customised to the specific requirements of client companies.
Construction of a catalyst production facility in Kazan began earlier this year. This comes after the opening of a technology pilot centre in Tobolsk last year. “Having in-house catalyst production will enable SIBUR to establish a full innovation cycle, from laboratory research to industrial production of advanced synthetic materials,” the company said.
