Saint-Gobain has signed a share transfer agreement to acquire AGC Corporation’s majority stake in AGC Polymer Materials, a leading Japanese manufacturer of polyurethane waterproofing and flooring solutions, marking another strategic step in expanding its global construction chemicals portfolio.

The acquisition is expected to significantly strengthen Saint-Gobain’s construction chemicals platform in Japan by complementing the capabilities of its existing subsidiary, GCP, enabling the company to offer a broader portfolio of advanced waterproofing, flooring, and specialty building solutions to customers across the country.

By integrating AGC Polymer Materials’ product portfolio, technical expertise, and established customer relationships, Saint-Gobain aims to strengthen its market presence, enhance local manufacturing and innovation capabilities, and meet the growing demand for durable, energy-efficient, and high-performance construction materials.

The acquisition also supports the Group’s long-term objective of delivering comprehensive construction chemical solutions while reinforcing its competitive position in the Asia-Pacific region. Subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions, the transaction is expected to close during the first quarter of 2027.
