Safic-Alcan Strengthens Latin American Presence Through Colormix Acquisition

French specialty chemicals distributor Safic Alcan has announced the full acquisition of Colormix Indústria e Comércio de Pigmentos Ltda. (Colormix Especialidades), one of Brazil’s leading distributors of specialty chemicals for the coatings, plastics and life sciences sectors. The transaction represents a significant step in Safic-Alcan’s strategy to expand its footprint across Latin America and strengthen its coatings and construction platform in one of the region’s most dynamic specialty chemicals markets.

Safic-Alcan stated that the acquisition will enhance its ability to collaborate with strategic partners across the region while expanding access to highly specialised pigments, additives and technical services. The company highlighted Colormix’s extensive customer relationships, nationwide market reach and dedicated laboratory capabilities as key strengths that complement its existing operations in Brazil.

The acquisition also continues Safic-Alcan’s broader growth strategy, which has included several recent international acquisitions aimed at expanding its presence in high-growth markets and specialised chemical segments. For Colormix, the deal provides access to Safic-Alcan’s global network, technical expertise and resources, which are expected to support future business expansion and customer service capabilities.
