Robertet, a global leader in natural raw materials for fragrances and flavors, has signed an agreement to acquire Phasex, a U.S.-based company specializing in supercritical CO2 extraction. This acquisition bolsters Robertet's production capabilities and expertise in North America, a key growth market for the company.
Phasex, founded in 1981 by Val Krukonis, is a pioneer in supercritical CO2 extraction technology. The company primarily focuses on three key markets: natural products, biopharmaceuticals, and polymers.
The acquisition aims to accelerate Robertet's growth by enhancing production capacities and expanding its CO2 extraction offerings for North American customers. This move vertically integrates Phasex, a trusted supplier since 2018, into Robertet’s operations. The acquisition will enable Robertet to develop new natural ingredient ranges for flavors and fragrances, utilizing biomass from North and South America. Additionally, it will shorten time-to-market through collaboration between Phasex and Robertet's R&D teams in Grasse, France.
