PAYAN BERTRAND, specialist in aromatic products and fragrances since 1854, is entering a new stage of growth with the construction of a cutting-edge fragrance compounding site in Le Plan-de-Grasse. Scheduled to open at the end of 2026, this €12 million investment will deliver a high-performance, sustainable facility fully aligned with the company’s ambitions.
After more than fifteen years of land research, the project materialized in 2024 with support from Sogefimur/Société Générale, through the acquisition of a 4,000 m² site. Designed by Didier Becchetti Architectes, the 2,800 m² plant will feature highly automated spaces housing the fragrance creation, evaluation, application, and quality control departments.
Dedicated entirely to fragrance production, the new site will serve the perfumery, cosmetics, personal care, hygiene, home fragrance, and wider industrial sectors.
Dominique Proal, Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of PAYAN BERTRAND, said "This new site embodies our commitment to combining tradition and innovation while reinforcing our development in Grasse, the historic birthplace of perfumery".
By 2027, PAYAN BERTRAND will operate through two distinct yet complementary Business Units:
• The new “Pacome” site in Le Plan-de-Grasse, dedicated to fragrances.
• The historic “1886” site, modernized and focused on producing natural aromatic ingredients for the perfumery and flavor industries.
This strategic reorganization will support the company’s continued growth while reinforcing its identity as an independent, Grasse-based house that combines heritage craftsmanship with industrial innovation.
