Nactarome Group, a fast-growing global developer and manufacturer of natural flavour, taste, and colour solutions for the food and beverage industry, headquartered near Milan, Italy, and majority-owned by TA Associates, announced today that it has acquired Plantex SAS, a producer of high-quality natural ingredients for the nutraceuticals, food, cosmetics, and animal nutrition industries.

Plantex, which is currently owned by Mérieux Equity Partners, has a 30-year history of developing, producing, and packaging conventional and organic plant extracts, allowing them to gain extensive knowledge in botanical extraction. They provide both standard and made-to-order items for a variety of product sectors, with a special focus on the burgeoning nutraceutical market. This complementarity makes Plantex an ideal partner for Nactarome, since they have common strengths and beliefs, allowing them to provide even more value to their customers and stakeholders.

Nactarome Group CEO Luigi Del Monaco expressed satisfaction with Plantex's addition to the company's EU market presence:

With this collaboration, we are taking a strategic step ahead by joining a fast growing industry: nutraceuticals. This diversification will allow us to broaden our selection of food ingredients, not only to better fulfil the needs of our existing customers, but also to penetrate new markets. My gratitude goes to the entire team that laboured to make this collaboration possible. I am confident that we can look forward to a future of sustainable prosperity and success for everyone. We welcome the new Plantex colleagues and look forward to working together to achieve ambitious goals.

Plantex CEO Eric Panijel stated that trends in natural ingredients, health, and wellbeing hold great promise for both nutraceutical and food products:

Joining the Nactarome company will allow us to speed our international expansion, reach new clients, and develop new products by using existing technology inside the company. We are excited to work with our new colleagues to create a prosperous future together.

BNP Paribas served as financial advisor to Nactarome Group, Latham & Watkins as legal counsel, while EY provided accounting and tax due diligence for the deal.
