Meenakshi Polymers is in the process of expanding, with the opening of one new plant and the development of another facility. The Gurugram-based organisation offers a diverse selection of PU-based automotive and lifestyle products.
It has recently inaugurated its tenth facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. This will primarily benefit the automotive industry in the region. The company is making an initial investment of approximately INR 25 million ($295k) in the plant, with additional investments to be made in the future.
Pune, the most significant automotive hub in western India, is currently in the process of constructing its eleventh plant. The company has supplied 45 million seats to the sector and has a current annual capacity of 12 million automotive seating systems.
“The Hosur plant has the capacity to produce one million two-wheeler seats,” CEO Kunal Soni told Urethanes Technology International at the recent UTECH India show in Mumbai. “The site has already started supplying the electric two-wheeler seating systems to OEMs like Kinetic, Revolt and River Mobility, and PU-based NVH parts to Nissan for its car range.”
The company maintains two overseas facilities in the neighbouring countries of Nepal and Bangladesh, in addition to its Indian facilities. Bajaj and, in the future, Honda and TVS are among the Indian two-wheeler OEMs that the Bangladesh plant serves. The Nepalese plant manufactures bus seating systems for the local market.
It manufactures NVH parts for OEM customers, including Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Nissan, and Jaguar Land Rover, in addition to automotive seating systems. Mattresses and memory foam pillows are among the foam-based products manufactured by the organisation.
