MANE Joins ICCS to Advance Ethical, Animal-Free Testing

Global fragrance and flavor house MANE announced its partnership with the International Collaboration on Cosmetic Safety (ICCS), reinforcing its commitment to animal welfare and ethical product testing.

Founded in 2023, ICCS is a global initiative aimed at accelerating the development and adoption of animal-free safety assessments within the cosmetics industry. The organization includes major industry players such as Coty, Edgewell, and BASF, and seeks to foster innovation through collaborative efforts among its members.

MANE’s alignment with ICCS marks a strategic move to support and advance ethical practices in cosmetic testing.

“At MANE, the protection of animal welfare and the environment is not just a priority—it is a cornerstone of our identity,” said Eric Angelini, MANE’s Vice President of Global Regulatory Affairs and Product Safety.

Angelini emphasized the company’s long-standing stance on cruelty-free practices, noting that MANE neither conducts nor commissions animal testing for any of its fragrance or flavor compositions, except where explicitly mandated by law. “Our proactive stance extends beyond compliance. We are determined pioneers in the search for alternative methods, investing in cutting-edge research and collaboration to drive the future of ethical testing,” he added.

Erin Hill, CEO of ICCS, welcomed the new partnership, stating, “By joining forces with ICCS, MANE reaffirms its commitment to developing and promoting non-animal safety approaches. Together, alongside our global network of ICCS members, we will continue driving progress toward a future free from animal testing.”
