Lubrizol maintains its commitment to the advancement of polymer technology by introducing a new water-borne, high-solids polyurethane dispersion (PUD) that facilitates the development of high-performance, advanced wood coatings.
Sancure™ 942 Polyurethane Dispersion is a novel, adaptable polymer that has been specifically engineered for OEM wood coatings and residential and commercial wood floor finishes. It provides exceptional protection against wear, robust adhesion to multiple substrates, and good chemical resistance properties for enhanced durability, rendering it suitable for various applications. It facilitates formulations that offer greater coverage per volume, thereby reducing the number of applications necessary to achieve the desired performance and expediting the return to service. This is due to its high solids content. The performance characteristics of Sancure 942 Polyurethane Dispersion are further improved when used in conjunction with external crosslinkers.
“The entire value chain will experience benefits”, shares Israel Skoff, technical marketing manager, resin technologies. “Coating manufacturers will see protection capabilities that outperform many solvent-borne predecessors as well as reduced shipping emissions due to the lower levels of water. Contractors will experience efficiency and safety with a versatile product for multiple substrates and a safer product that requires fewer coats. End-users will appreciate reduced job cost, faster return to service, and outstanding durability.”
