Lubrizol plans to construct a $200 million manufacturing facility in India.

The Lubrizol Corporation, a global leader in specialty chemicals, announced today that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to acquire a 120-acre site in Aurangabad, India. The company plans to build a new manufacturing facility there to initially support the region's growing transportation and industrial fluid markets. The first phase of the project is expected to involve an investment of approximately $200 million, marking the company's largest investment in India to date.

This plant will become Lubrizol's second-largest manufacturing facility worldwide and its largest in India once completed. The construction will proceed in phases over the next several years, with potential for future expansion.

Lubrizol has made meaningful investments in India for more than five decades. This new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility will allow us to enhance our local capacity and capabilities for our Additives business with the potential to support other Lubrizol businesses and regions in the future.

The announcement of the Aurangabad plant marks Lubrizol's latest effort to boost growth and enhance its local presence in India. In 2023, Lubrizol committed $150 million to the region, funding the construction of the world's largest CPVC resin plant in Vilayat, Gujarat, expanding capacity at the Dahej site, opening a grease lab in Navi Mumbai, and increasing local jobs and innovation. Additionally, the company inaugurated its first Global Capability Center in Pune to accelerate regional growth and foster closer collaboration.

This site will support India's demand and allow exports to neighboring countries and Lubrizol sites. Factory operations are expected to begin in 2028, Lubrizol's 100th anniversary.
