LANXESS sells Urethane Systems to UBE Corporation

LANXESS has finalized the sale of its Urethane Systems business to the Japanese company UBE Corporation as of April 1, 2025. UBE, a global chemical manufacturer. The transaction, initially announced in October 2024, has generated gross cash proceeds of approximately €500 million for LANXESS, with an enterprise value of €460 million.
LANXESS plans to use these funds to repay its €500 million benchmark bond, which is set to mature in May 2025. As a result, the company’s leverage ratio (net financial debt / EBITDA pre) is expected to decrease to approximately 3x.
