Kimpur Gains ReMade® Certification for Recycled PU Products

Kimpur has achieved ReMade® certification for its products that are designed for the sandwich panel industry. The certification encompasses two rigid polyurethane foam systems and three polyester polyols from Kimpur's current product line. The certified products assist European sandwich panel manufacturers in complying with the Minimum Environmental Criteria (Criteri Ambientali Minimi – CAM) that are applicable to pertinent projects in Italy.

After the commencement of PET-based polyester polyol production at its Düzce facility in 2025, Kimpur has now verified its advancements in this field through ReMade® certification. The certification body ICMQ conducted assessments that evaluate the origin of post-consumer recycled PET inputs, their traceability throughout the supply chain, production records, and the calculation methodology based on mass balance principles.

The certified products are offered in a variety of recycled content percentages to meet the demand of customers. The post-consumer recycled PET-derived content can reach up to 40% by weight, contingent upon the product. This facilitates the recycling of post-consumer PET waste into the raw material cycle, thereby enhancing resource efficiency and transforming waste into value-added products.

Offering technical and mechanical properties comparable to their conventional counterparts, the certified products can be used in customers’ existing production lines. This enables sandwich panel manufacturers to meet recycled content expectations while maintaining technical performance and to document the recycled content percentage of the raw materials they use through independent verification.

In line with its sustainable product management approach, Kimpur continues to incorporate recycled resources into its product development processes and provide polyurethane raw materials with measurable, traceable and independently verified recycled content.
