IFF to Open State-of-the-Art Scent Creative Centre in Mumbai by 2026

IFF, a global leader in flavours, fragrances, food ingredients, and biosciences, has announced the development of a new scent creative centre in Mumbai, India. Strategically located in the city’s Powai district, the facility is expected to be fully operational by the first half of 2026. This expansion more than doubles IFF’s existing footprint in India to 3,650 square metres and is set to enhance the company’s ability to meet growing market demands with greater agility and innovation.

The creative centre will be home to over 100 employees and will feature advanced laboratories, multi-category evaluation booths, and a cutting-edge sensory evaluation space. These capabilities will allow IFF to co-create tailored fragrance solutions in close collaboration with local customers, blending global expertise with regional consumer insights. The facility is also designed to foster creativity and excellence through inspirational, technology-enabled spaces.

Ana Paula Teles de Mendonça, President of IFF Scent, highlighted that the new centre reaffirms IFF’s commitment to innovation and excellence in one of the world’s fastest-growing markets. Ramon Brentan, Vice President and Regional General Manager for Greater Asia, emphasised that the centre would serve as a hub where science and creativity converge to produce fragrances that evoke emotion and individuality.

With over two decades of presence in India, IFF’s latest investment marks a significant milestone in its ongoing mission to advance local innovation and deepen customer partnerships in the dynamic Indian fragrance market.
