Huide Advances 600,000 TPA Polyurethane New Materials Project in China with RMB 2 Billion Investment
Huide is accelerating construction of its new polyurethane materials project in Taixing Economic Development Zone, Jiangsu Province, China, as the region strengthens its position in advanced chemicals and specialty materials. According to a report published by the Taixing Municipal Government on 6 October 2026, the project involves a total investment of RMB 2 billion and is designed to achieve an annual production capacity of 600,000 tonnes of polyurethane new materials.
The facility aims to enable domestic mass production of high-end elastomer materials, addressing supply gaps in China’s new energy, automotive, and light manufacturing industries while reducing dependence on overseas suppliers of advanced polyurethane materials. Huide, a publicly listed Chinese company recognized as a national-level specialized and sophisticated enterprise, has reportedly accumulated more than 70 core invention patents.
Rising domestic and international orders, alongside capacity constraints at its existing facilities, prompted the company to evaluate multiple locations before selecting Taixing Economic Development Zone. The development benefits from the region’s established fine chemicals supply chain, integrated industrial infrastructure, and project-support services, which are intended to improve implementation efficiency and strengthen downstream manufacturing capabilities.
The project also reflects Taixing’s broader strategy to upgrade its traditional chemical industry towards high-value specialty chemicals and advanced materials. Other developments in the industrial zone include a high-end chemicals project by Xinpu and a semiconductor precursor materials project by Yuanzhan, supporting expansion across emerging industrial sectors.
Huidi's investment is expected to strengthen China’s domestic polyurethane materials supply chain and support growing demand for advanced elastomers in automotive components, new energy applications and industrial manufacturing. The project represents a significant development in China’s polyurethane industry, although the announcement does not specify a commissioning date or provide a detailed breakdown of the planned product portfolio.
