The total global market for flavours and fragrances (for the countries covered by IAL)
is valued for 2024 at US$ 39,6 million, with flavours accounting for 56% and
fragrances for 44% overall. The market grew by 5.3% overall compared to 2023, with
4.9% growth for flavours and 6% for fragrances. This was a substantial acceleration
compared to 2023 and reflected the industry’s ‘typical’ growth trajectory, backed by
strong consumer spending.
On a regional basis, the highest growth rates were recorded in Asia-Pacific, Eastern
Europe and Africa. The lowest growth was the mature markets of Australasia and
Western Europe, but these were still healthily positive
