Givaudan has reached a significant milestone by breaking ground on a new, cutting-edge factory in Guangzhou, China, expanding its scented product capabilities in one of the world's most rapidly increasing markets.

This investment is intended to strengthen the company's capacity to service both local and regional consumers in one of the world's fastest-growing fragrance markets.

The new 30,000-square-meter site will comprise a creative centre that will bring together evaluation, marketing, sales, and application teams, as well as perfumers and fragrance analysts, to stimulate close collaboration and drive innovation.

Furthermore, the facility will include a highly automated production location to assist Givaudan's fragrance business in China, which is growing rapidly and fragmented.

This development demonstrates Givaudan's strong commitment to long-term growth and highlights the company's focus to maintaining environmental, health, and safety standards, resulting in a safe and supportive work environment.

Approximately 150 staff from the existing Guangzhou plant are planned to migrate to this new facility within the next two years.

Yaling Li, Head of Fragrances China & Korea, commented, "With this strategic investment, we are bringing our Chinese customers even closer to the heart of Givaudan's creativity and expertise. Powered by two creative centres in Shanghai and Guangzhou as well as two production sites in Changzhou and Guangzhou, our fragrance team will have an unparalleled footprint and capability in China to serve our customers and better capture the growth opportunities of this dynamic market."

This ground-breaking move underlines Givaudan's 2030 vision of combining local understanding with global excellence to provide inspirational solutions for clients while fostering a sustainable and inventive future for China.

Givaudan to acquire US fragrance house Belle Aire Creations.

Givaudan has announced plans to buy Belle Aire Creations, a well-known US fragrance business noted for its innovation and strong regional customer relationships.

Belle Aire Creations was founded in 1982 by three Illinois entrepreneurs—Don Conover Sr., a perfumery expert, and brothers Richard and Charles David—with the idea of providing high-quality scent development with agility.

Belle Aire Creations has made significant investments in talent, technology, and resources over the years, establishing itself as a key leader in the fragrance market known for innovation and consumer satisfaction.

Maurizio Volpi, President of Fragrance & Beauty at Givaudan, stated that Belle Aire Creations will improve its offering for local and regional North American customers by combining Givaudan's global creative resources with Belle Aire's deep regional expertise, resulting in significant growth potential.

While the specifics of the acquisition have not been disclosed, Belle Aire Creations delivered roughly CHF 65 million in incremental sales to Givaudan in 2024.

The purchase, which is expected to finalise in late 2025 or early 2026, will be funded using Givaudan's existing resources.
