FlavorSum Expands West Coast Presence with Acquisition of S&S Flavors

FlavorSum has strengthened its position in the North American flavor industry through the acquisition of S&S Flavors, a California-based developer and manufacturer of custom flavor systems with nearly a century of expertise. The strategic acquisition establishes FlavorSum's West Coast Innovation Center in Brea, California, while expanding the company's manufacturing footprint and enhancing its technical capabilities in powdered flavor systems.

The move follows FlavorSum's recent acquisition of Beverage Flavors International (BFI), underscoring its long-term growth strategy focused on broadening geographic reach, strengthening differentiated flavor technologies, and investing in customer-centric innovation. The newly established innovation hub will provide localized support for flavor creation, collaborative product development, application expertise, and on-site manufacturing of both liquid and powdered flavor solutions, complementing FlavorSum's existing operations across the Midwest, East Coast, and Canada.

According to FlavorSum CEO Brian Briggs, S&S Flavors' strong technical expertise, established West Coast presence, and specialization in powdered flavor systems will enhance the company's ability to serve food and beverage manufacturers across North America.

S&S Flavors, founded in 1928, is recognized for its expertise in natural, organic, water-soluble, oil-soluble, and powdered flavor systems, serving a diverse customer base in the food and beverage sector. Curtis Krystek, Vice President of S&S Flavors, stated that joining FlavorSum will enable the company to preserve its longstanding customer relationships while providing access to expanded resources, technical expertise, and a broader flavor portfolio.

FlavorSum confirmed that operations at the Brea facility will continue without interruption, with the existing S&S Flavors team remaining in place to ensure a seamless transition and uninterrupted customer support. The acquisition further reinforces FlavorSum's ambition to become one of North America's fastest-growing pure-play flavor solutions providers by expanding innovation capabilities and strengthening its nationwide manufacturing network.
