Evonik and Fuhua Complete Construction of Specialty-Grade Hydrogen Peroxide Plant in Leshan, China

Evonik Fuhua New Materials has completed the construction of its hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) facility in Leshan, Sichuan Province, China. The joint venture between Evonik and Fuhua Tongda Chemicals Company will upgrade industrial-grade H₂O₂ into speciality grades to serve high-growth markets in the region. The plant is currently preparing for trial production, with initial commercial output expected in Q2 2026.

Based on technology licensed from Evonik’s Active Oxygens business line, the facility uses industrial-grade H₂O₂ produced by Fuhua Tongda Chemicals Company as feedstock. The plant will convert the feedstock into speciality-grade hydrogen peroxide to meet rising regional demand across high-end applications such as solar cell production, semiconductor manufacturing, food packaging, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. The facility has an annual production capacity of 20,000 tonnes.
