DuPont has entered into a strategic partnership with Hydroblok, an emerging innovator in lightweight, waterproof, insulated panel systems, to supply Styrofoam Brand Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) for the HydroBlok One building panel, marking a significant advancement in construction technology across North America. By combining DuPont’s expertise in building-envelope performance with Hydroblok’s proven panel systems, the collaboration aims to deliver enhanced durability, superior water resistance, and improved thermal performance for builders and contractors.
DuPont’s Global Vice President Tim Lacey emphasised that the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to developing solutions that enable faster, simpler, and more efficient construction practices. Hydroblok, with more than a decade of experience and over 200,000 shower installations in major hotel properties, has built a strong reputation for reducing labour costs through easy, one-person installation systems.
The HydroBlok One panel, featuring DuPont’s Styrofoam XPS core, extends this legacy to broader building applications, offering contractors an all-in-one solution designed to streamline workflows. Both companies are also collaborating on future innovations, including field testing labour-saving wall systems to improve the installation of stucco exterior walls. Hydroblok CEO Colin House highlighted the complementary nature of the partnership, noting its potential to deliver high-performance solutions from the inside out.
