dsm-firmenich, a leading developer in nutrition, health, and beauty, today unveiled its next-generation, cutting-edge, pet-only premix facility in Tonganoxie, Kansas. The new facility, NextGen Tonganoxie, sets a new benchmark for pet food safety with 100% automated micro-ingredient additions and completely traceable batch assembly. NextGen Tonganoxie serves the entire range of demand in the pet food business, from basic nutrition to advanced functional formulas comparable to human supplements. The facility will be able to combine dsm-firmenich's own speciality ingredients with those purchased from third parties, providing clients with the flexibility they require to better meet the health and nutritional needs of pets throughout America, Canada, and Mexico.

This launching is a significant milestone in the company's expanding pet food offering, after the opening of its European factory in Haag, Austria earlier this year. With two locations now dedicated solely to pet food and fully isolated from any animal feed lines, dsm-firmenich is ideally positioned in Europe and North America to drive innovation and influence the future of pet nutrition. The opening also provides an economic boost to the Animal Health Corridor, with 20 new employment established to date and approximately 30 projected once the facility is fully operational.
