DSM-Firmenich Opens 44,000-Square-Foot Fine Fragrance Flagship in New York

DSM-Firmenich officially opened its new Fine Fragrance flagship in Chelsea, New York City, on 14 October 2026, marking a significant development in its North American fragrance operations.

Located at 641 Avenue of the Americas, the 44,000-square-foot facility brings together approximately 100 employees, including nine fine fragrance perfumers, alongside fragrance development, application, digital and compounding teams.

The new creative hub aims to strengthen collaboration with customers and creative partners, accelerate fragrance innovation and provide opportunities to explore ingredients, exchange ideas and participate in masterclasses and curated events.

A key feature is its purpose-built, next-generation laboratory equipped with advanced automation and robotics to improve operational efficiency, precision and safety. The facility includes Cerberus, a custom-built compounding robot capable of handling up to 456 raw materials, enabling greater creative output.

Sustainability features include energy-efficient systems, Green Lab practices, waste reduction measures and smart workstations designed to support employee well-being. The opening also marks the launch of OPEN AIR: Artists in Resonance, a cultural platform connecting perfumers with creative communities across music, food, fashion, design and other disciplines.

These collaborations will be translated into scent-led experiences, exhibitions and creative works. The new flagship reinforces dsm-firmenich’s investment in fine fragrance innovation, customer engagement and the integration of perfumery, science and culture.
