DSM-Firmenich Expands Perfumery Ingredients Production Capacity

DSM-Firmenich, a prominent manufacturer of perfumery ingredients, has recently commenced operations at two cutting-edge manufacturing facilities situated in Castets, France. The first establishment focuses on producing pine-derived components, while the second facility aims to produce Habanolide®, a well-known biodegradable fragrance. With these expansions, the perfumery industry in Europe will be better able to cater to the increasing demand for sustainable products while also improving customer service.

The construction of a multipurpose facility will ensure the perfume industry has a consistent supply of intermediates and finished products, whereas the Habanolide® plant will substantially augment production capacity for this widely used perfume ingredient. DSM-Firmenich's Head of Ingredients, Perfumery, and Beauty, Amaury Roquette, underscored the organisation's worldwide preeminence in bio-sourced ingredients and its steadfast dedication to manufacturing ingredients from repurposed materials.

To ensure quality, safety, operational stability, and energy efficiency, both facilities have been equipped with cutting-edge technologies. Local businesses largely financed the construction of these facilities, which the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and the French government financed in an effort to boost industrial performance and accelerate investments in France.
