Dow and RDM Group have introduced Multiboard CirculaRR, a new fibre-based food packaging solution designed to support circularity in barrier packaging applications. Suitable for frozen foods, fruit trays, and dry pet food, the packaging combines recycled cartonboard with advanced recycled polyethylene (PE), making it entirely from recycled materials while maintaining high performance and food-contact safety standards.
The innovation builds on RDM Group’s existing Multiboard Barrier technology produced in Fiskeby, Sweden, which uses a low PE coating content to ensure compatibility with existing mixed paper recycling streams. Multiboard CirculaRR has also been independently validated under the latest 4evergreen recyclability testing protocol, confirming its suitability for established paper recycling systems.
Developed to address evolving sustainability regulations such as the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), the solution helps brands meet future recyclability and recycled-content requirements without compromising packaging functionality or food safety.

Krzysztof Krajewski chief sustainability and innovation officer at RDM Group said "Multiboard CirculaRR is a breakthrough packaging innovation that advances circularity in food packaging. Now its plastic part is certified as being made from recycled materials and is designed for recyclability"
