Carpenter Co., the largest producer of polyurethane foam in the world, has reached an agreement to acquire the flexible foam assets of NCFI's Consumer Products Division. The Mount Airy, North Carolina-based division provides foams that have been scientifically engineered for use in a variety of industries. The acquisition occurs subsequent to the corporation's December 2021 procurement of Recticel's engineered foams division. In addition to enhancing its current operations in Conover, North Carolina, the NCFI site will furnish supplementary capabilities for the production of foam grades obtained through Recticel.
The CEO of Carpenter Co., Brad Beauchamp, stated, “We are excited to bring the world-class products and people of NCFI to Carpenter. This acquisition will further our integration and growth of the Engineered Foams business that we acquired from Recticel earlier this year. The Mt. Airy location and the diverse set of products made therein will complement our current business portfolio.”
With the establishment of the NCFI Consumer Products Division in Mount Airy, Carpenter Co. intends to increase its North Carolina operations. By increasing the company's capacity to manufacture specific grades of foam, it will be in line with Carpenter's overarching goal of developing products that improve well-being, security, and comfort.
