Bunge (NYSE:BG) stated that it has completed the acquisition of International Flavours & Fragrances, Inc.'s soy protein concentrate, lecithin, and soy crush operations. This purchase accords with Bunge's objective of optimising its ingredient portfolio in order to provide clients with a more broad variety of solutions.
The purchased companies include IFF's Response®, Alpha®, Procon®, and Solec™ brands. These developments round out Bunge's existing protein portfolio, resulting in a variety of textured, functional, and powdered soy protein concentrates to help build higher-protein products in bread, snacks, meats, alternative meats, and other applications. The company has expanded its lecithin offerings to include liquid, powdered, and fractionated lecithins derived from soy, sunflower, and rapeseed. This will improve the production and texture of candy, bakery, and other items.
Brian Douville, Bunge's vice president of emulsifiers and proteins, said, "We are excited to integrate IFF's soy protein concentrate, lecithin, and crush businesses and welcome our new colleagues." "This transaction reinforces our commitment to be recognised by food and beverage customers as a partner of choice providing a diverse and reliable range of ingredient solutions to our global customers, supporting supply chain resilience."
