Aromatic ingredients producer Bontoux has announced the acquisition of Atelier Fluides Supercritiques, a French company renowned for its expertise in supercritical CO₂ extraction. The official signing is scheduled for late October.
Specialising in the design and optimisation of extraction processes and the precise restitution of delicate botanical compounds, Atelier Fluides Supercritiques brings advanced technical know-how that will enhance Bontoux’s production and innovation capabilities. The acquisition aligns with Bontoux’s strategic ambition to expand its technological foundation and strengthen its ability to deliver high-quality, environmentally responsible natural ingredients.
Chief Executive Officer Pierre-Philippe Garry highlighted that while global demand for natural products continues to rise, ensuring consistent quality, consumer safety, and sustainability poses growing challenges—areas where technological innovation is vital. He noted that supercritical CO₂ extraction, a long-established technique refined over the past 15 years through institutional support, represents a key enabler in achieving these goals. The partnership embodies a shared commitment to creating locally anchored value, fostering employment, and promoting craftsmanship within the sector.
Vincent Perrut, head of Atelier Fluides Supercritiques, emphasised that joining forces with Bontoux offers significant growth prospects for the Nyons technology platform, reinforcing its regional footprint and technological influence.
