Biesterfeld Expands Cooperation with Synthene and Broadens its Additive Manufacturing Portfolio in the DACH Region
Biesterfeld, one of the world's largest distribution and service firms in the plastics, rubber, speciality chemicals and ingredients industries, and speciality chemicals company Synthene are expanding their strategic cooperation. Biesterfeld will immediately distribute Synthene's innovative polyurethane solutions for industrial 3D printing in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, expanding its additive manufacturing portfolio.
The partnership focuses on SYNTHЭD+ PUprint, a revolutionary two-component polyurethane system (2K PU) optimised for additive manufacturing. The material allows for the creation of fully functional, extremely durable components, bringing the proven performance of casting polyurethanes to the world of 3D printing.
SYNTHЭD+ PUprint comes in four hardness grades, ranging from Shore 55A to Shore 80A, and boasts high mechanical strength, thermal stability, and chemical resistance. Compared to traditional TPU filaments, the material is a more durable option for functional end-use parts and demanding industrial applications.
The system, when combined with Lynxter's printing technology, allows for the exact manufacturing of complex geometries while also providing washable support materials and good process dependability. This opens up new possibilities for on-demand spare parts production, as well as applications in defence, aerospace, industrial tooling, and rapid prototyping.
