Brenntag, a global leader in chemicals and ingredients distribution, has announced a new distribution agreement with BASF. The partnership expands Brenntag Specialties’ Home Care and Industrial & Institutional (I&I) portfolio with a broad range of innovative cleaning solutions. The agreement covers several key African markets, including South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Ethiopia.
Brenntag brings extensive expertise in the home care and industrial & institutional (I&I) sectors, supported by broad market reach and a strong supply chain network. Through its collaboration with BASF, the company is expanding its portfolio with a comprehensive range of ingredients designed to enhance cleaning performance across various home care and I&I applications. BASF’s advanced surfactant solutions help clean surfaces effectively by removing grease, dirt, and other common soils, and they also assist with formulation stability and sustainability goals.
In laundry care applications, the portfolio includes ingredients designed to enhance stain removal, fabric care, and colour protection, while maintaining effective cleaning performance even at lower washing temperatures. This can help reduce energy consumption and support more sustainable laundry practices. Together, these solutions give customers in Sub-Saharan Africa reliable, efficient, and scalable cleaning technologies that meet changing hygiene needs and sustainability priorities.
Through their collaboration, Brenntag and BASF are creating new opportunities to deliver high-performance solutions to a broader customer base across the Home Care and Industrial & Institutional (I&I) cleaning sectors.
Kreason Gopalan, Regional Commercial Director Sub-Saharan Africa, Brenntag Specialties Beauty & Care states: "We are proud to partner with BASF to deliver high-performance, innovative cleaning solutions across Sub-Saharan Africa. Their advanced portfolio enables our customers to develop high-performing cleaning formulations in HI&I, while aligning with growing sustainability expectations.
