BASF and LEMON Co., Ltd. have signed an MoU to co-develop advanced material solutions using Freeflex®, a fibre made from BASF’s Elastollan® TPU. LEMON, a leader in functional nanomembranes, will use Freeflex in its waterproof and windproof apparel. The partnership also explores future collaboration in technology and business development.
Lee Jong-il, Chief Executive Officer, LEMON said, "This partnership with BASF allows us to expand the application of our electrospinning technology and deliver high-performance nanofiber materials to global brands. By combining our expertise in nanomembrane development with BASF’s material innovation, we aim to set new standards in functional textiles".
Freeflex is a high-performance BASF material designed for electrospun nanomembranes with a reticular structure. It combines high water repellency, enhanced breathability, and ultralight weight, ensuring comfort and durability even in extreme conditions. Made without PFAS and fully recyclable, Freeflex supports both companies’ commitment to sustainable innovation.
