Armacell, a global leader in flexible equipment insulation and tailored foams, is committed to promoting energy efficiency, reducing emissions, and supporting sustainable infrastructure development in Asia-Pacific. As demand for high-performance insulation grows, the company is collaborating with industrial operators, mechanical consultants, and building owners to provide reliable and resource-efficient thermal management solutions.

Energy efficiency is a cost-effective decarbonisation strategy, especially in rapidly increasing Asia-Pacific economies where HVAC systems consume up to 40% of commercial building energy. Industry research regularly shows that professional installation of proper insulating materials considerably lowers heat loss, eliminates condensation, and stabilises system performance, resulting in measurable operating energy savings.

Armacell provides a comprehensive insulation portfolio suitable for a wide range of mechanical and industrial applications. Its flexible elastomeric foam (FEF) solutions, based on nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR)—including ArmaFlex® Class 0—and EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer), such as HT/ArmaFlex, provide consistent thermal performance and long-term durability. Armacell's ArmaPrene™ technology, used in insulation products like ArmaFlex Ultima, improves fire safety. ArmaGel®, Armacell's next-generation aerogel insulating blanket, offers ultra-low thermal conductivity, making it ideal for applications that require thinner, lighter, or higher-efficiency systems. These solutions improve long-term energy performance for high-temperature and chilled water networks, data center cooling systems, industrial processing facilities, and district energy infrastructure.

Armacell, a staunch supporter of sustainability, was the first firm in the ASEAN region to acquire independently validated Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) from UL Environment in 2015. These declarations provide transparent, third-party verified lifecycle data, allowing engineers, specifiers, and building owners to align insulation choices with international and regional green building frameworks such as LEED®, BREEAM®, and the WELL Building Standard®, as well as local certification schemes like Singapore's Green Mark, Indonesia's Greenship, and Vietnam's LOTUS.

Armacell's sustainability roadmap is based on its global climate action plan, which aims to reduce Scope 1 and 2 direct and indirect emissions by 63% and Scope 3 indirect emissions by 30% by 2035, compared to a baseline of 2024. The company uses insulation solutions to reduce emissions in industrial, commercial, and residential applications, highlighting its importance in achieving long-term climate and energy efficiency goals.

"As regional industries respond to climate commitments and energy-performance mandates, energy-efficient insulation becomes a strategic necessity rather than an optional upgrade," says Scott Fang, Armacell's Executive Vice President for Asia Pacific. "Our mission is to provide insight, assurance and technical expertise so customers can meet their sustainability targets without compromising safety, reliability or performance."
